You are not alone πŸ™‚

I find this to be a perfect use case for ChatGPT β€” ask it to give you a top level understanding of topic x, y, z. Then you can do follow up questions where it will answer in context of the main theme.

I can believe that but am also wary of not having the ChatGPT results validated by a topic expert. Have seen a few examples already where Chat GPT fell short.

Oh yes, you have to be super careful and you are right to be wary about the results. I do find that it quite good on these summary type questions. When you get to specifics you have to be super careful. E.g. I’ve had it invent npm packages and make up urls.

Hey @agreeable-lifeguard-99976 @future-doctor-89396 Check out this blogpost: https://www.ory.sh/auth-and-modern-software/ I am also looking to publish a more general overview of the whole Ory stack, the above blogpost is mostly looking at AuthN.

ChatGPT is telling some untruths about auth πŸ₯² In the end it’s a transformer, not a knowledge system. But it can help find the right keywords for further research!

We are also testing out a GPT playground that is trained on our documentation. Feel free to test it out and rate the answers: https://www.mendable.ai/playground/ory Take it with a huge grain of salt, as it often gives incomplete or outright incorrect answers. I would like to gather more feedback (and improve the answers) and maybe we can integrate this into this Slack at some point.

BTW: Another reason I’m unsure about GPT

Yeah the AI is not intelligent as we would means it. GPT is after all a Language model. His goal is to generate text that is the most plausible after a given text input it doesn't "understand" it just make a prediction of what the next sentence should be to be the most plausible

If you are also interested in authorization and not only authentication, I can recommend https://www.osohq.com/academy It only deals with authorization and its concepts. Fwiw, the guide is kept abstract and doesn't go into implementations, but I think you could implement all the proposed models with ory keto if you wanted)
