This is interesting but from what I can see in the docs no ory product has support for anything other than a relational database? Is there a way to use object storage instead as suggested by the article?

No there isn’t right now - and we have not plans to implement support for it as it would be quite a lot of effort and refactoring that would block anything else for the next 6 months but add little benefit :/
