Is the recommendation for Multi-tenant to still use multiple installations? We are trying to avoid that, but I don't even see a viable path forward with a simple fork even due to the nature of the schema/login config being file based? We have use cases within a tenant even to use different fields for logins

yes, that is still the case and will not change.

The best approach here is to use the Ory Cloud

That's unfortunate. I will see if we can potentially still use Hydra with a different identity ( or our own ) identity solution. Thank you for the quick response
