Ory Hydra 2.0 is being released today and it features a full integration between Ory Hydra and Ory Kratos (check the screencast below). Wanna try it out yourself? Wohoo! Starting today you can set up more than one custom domain in your Ory Network project! This feature allows you to easily add login to apps that run on separate domains - for example

Change of Certificate Authority for Custom Domain Certificates Today January 23, 2023, Ory Network changed the Certificate Authority for Custom Domains from Digicert to Google Trust Services. Impact: 1. All new Custom Domain certificates will be issued by Google Trust Services effective immediately. 2. Existing Custom Domains will be migrated to Google Trust Services as the Certificate Authority by the latest January 31 EOB. Call to Action: If you have CAA records set up for your domain, please add Google Trust Services to the list of authorized CAs asap, latest by January 27 EOB. You can find more information on how to change/add your CAA records on this page from Google Trust Services: https://pki.goog/faq/#caa. There should be no other impact on your end. If you have any questions, please contact us directly in Slack.

Ory is making great strides in expanding the Ory Network to become a global, multi-region service. A few days ago we shipped significant performance improvements to our service. The graphs below show that we have achieved a 5x improvement in session checks for 99% of all session checks and a 10x improvement in permission checking API, leading to a 2x improvement in latency for all of Ory’s APIs. This is a major development and significant improvement to provide a fast and reliable global network, which is faster than what competitors can deliver. Dear community, we relaunched our website last night with more information and shiny new look! In parallel, we've updated our pricing to a) bring more clarity and make cost estimation much easier, and b) account for the fact that Ory Network has significantly expanded its capabilities. Since we've launched our cloud services, we've added full OAuth2 support, a managed Account Experience, multi-domain support and countless improvements and features. We're also rolling out our global edge network for lightning-fast session checks from anywhere in the world! We now offer all the Essentials for secure applications from $29/month, and introduced a new Scale plan for $690 including multi-site and multi-project support, generous included usage volume, and concierge onboarding for annual subscriptions. Usage charges are based on your average daily active users (DAUs) for authentication, M2M tokens issued for non-interactive OAuth flows, and API calls for fine-grained permission checks. As always, Multi-Factor Authentication and all security-relevant features are included in all plans. For details, please see www.ory.sh/pricing. For our current subscribers, nothing will change in 2023. You still get the new tiers at the price you signed up for - thank you for your loyalty and trust! Ory Edge Sessions (formerly known as Ory Edge Session Cache) are now available on all paid plans! Enabling this feature in the advanced settings brings down latency to ~30-40ms everywhere in the world for consecutive session checks with (a) eventual consistency and (b) read-your-own-writes guarantees. The feature is opt-in and disabled by default. We recommend to get acquainted with the feature before rolling out to production! For in-depth details read our technical documentation.
